“The European Human Rights System beyond Europe”

On Sept 12th and 13th 2014 the Vienna Journal on International Constitutional Law (ICL Journal) held the conference ‘The European Human Rights System beyond Europe’ at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
The conference, jointly organized by the ICL Journal, the Center of Asian Legal Exchange (CALE) as well as the Nagoya University and the Japanese Research Group on the Case Law of the European Court of Human Rights, was dedicated to the current challenges the European Human Rights Structure faces and raised the questions of how to balance national interest and universal human rights standard by dynamically integrating different approaches to a coherent body of human rights protection; thus bringing closer whole regions by promoting and strengthening human rights awareness as common achievement.
